Debt relief leads are consumers who filled in a form asking for help with credit card, medical, personal loan, tax or student loan debt. Many are stressed, some are already behind on payments, and most have been putting off the call for a while. The first conversation decides whether they trust you enough to share statements, so a calm, informative opener beats a hard close every time.
Fit matters more than volume. A settlement program, a nonprofit counseling plan and a tax resolution engagement each suit a different balance, debt mix and payment status. Filtering on total debt, debt type and whether the consumer is behind keeps your agents talking to people you can actually enroll, and stops you paying for conversations that end in a referral elsewhere.
This is a closely regulated category. Federal and state rules restrict when debt-relief providers may collect fees and what they may say about results, savings and credit impact. Review your scripts, disclosures and fee structure with counsel, never promise an outcome, and treat each lead's stored consent record as part of your file, not a formality.
